Here in New York, we’ve been putting together semi-regular showcases of artists from our crew and associated acts, performing at New York’s Sidewalk Cafe. They’re free shows where we play new songs, or try different arrangements of old songs, where we collaborate on stage with each other, playing mostly acoustic instruments. The shows have been a lot of fun — thanks to everyone that’s been coming out to see us and support us! I’ve been pretty bad about updating this blog with info about every show, but that’s about to change. Last month, we had six acts, and here is the poster by the soft-handed Dima Drjuchin (of Corrupt Autopilot fame):
We’ll be booking more of these, as well as other no-so-free shows with electric guitars.
The fine gents in New Beard have almost completed tracking for their upcoming debut record, and Vending Machine’s “Let The People Sing” is complete, to be released later in November.
Finally, we wanna brag a little about our one appearance at CMJ 2010 at Greg Barris’s Heart of Darkness. The sold out show was a phenomenal event, with Reggie Watts, Dave Hill, Kristen Schaal, and Kurt Braunohler performing, with The Forgiveness Choir backing everybody up (featuring New Beard, Yazan, Dima, Jonas from Mother of Three, and Aerial East). Here’s the poster for that:
