| Other Info | Mother of Three is playing her first show in a little bit, and there will probably only be one other show in 2009, so come out and see her while you can. This time we're celebrating more than just our freedom: it's also a double birthday party -- Jonas turns 29 and Yazan turns a whopping 30 years of age. We'll be playing new tunes, telling stories, and shaking the same old tambourines. Come out and hear the sound! |

New York, NY – 10/01/09 – Lit Lounge – Mother of Three
Thursday, October 1st, 2009Mother of Three shows and jams
Monday, September 28th, 2009Lots of news from Mother of Three:
1. Next show is Thurs 1 Oct at Lit Lounge in New York. Full details here. It’s another birthday show — this time Yazan turns 30 and Jonas turns 29, and no higher authority is going to stop us this time. It’s our first show since Feb (our July show was canceled), and will be among our last for the year, so come on out!
2. Mother of Three has started releasing select cuts from their massive library of rehearsal recordings. These recordings are almost completely improvised, and recorded live in a single room with a single stereo mic. It’s raw and unfinished stuff, mostly instrumental, but the choice bits we’re making available are just too nasty not to be heard.
You can download it at: http://music.motherofthree.info/album/jams-2009, or listen here:
3. Mother of Three is part of the Pure Volume CMJ Showcase at Collective Hardware. We’ll be playing a set (with awesome bands Lavalier and Bowery Riots) on Fri 23 Oct at Collective Hardware, and then we’ll be the backing band for the CMJ edition of the Heart of Darkness comedy show, featuring Reggie Watts, Dave Hill, David Cope, and of course Mike O’ Rourke and Greg Barris. Check out Dima’s sweet poster:

4. We’re working on booking a Brooklyn show for some time in Oct as well, so keep your eyes peeled, suburbanites!
Mother of Three July 10 show: CANCELED
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009Well I’m sure those of you that came out on Friday night know by now that our July 10 show at Pianos was, unfortunately, canceled. Due to circumstances beyond our control, not all band members were able to be at the venue come showtime. We are super bummed that we had to cancel, but Dima still claims to have had the best birthday of his life, so thanks to those of you that came out and hung out in support of MO3 and Dima. If you want the full story, get off the internet and talk to a band member.
We’ll be booking some shows for late July and September and October, and we promise we’ll make it up to you all. If anyone didn’t get a refund, please email us (info at shoulder tap dot com) or leave a note here and we will make sure everything is squared. Our most sincere apologies for the disappointment and confusion. Our next show will be even bigger and badder, guaranteed. Thanks again for your unconditional support.

Mother of Three at Piano’s for Dima’s Birthday
Friday, June 12th, 2009Ahoy friends! It’s been quite a long minute since we last were accounted for, but we are here still and in good health, thanks for asking. Mother of Three has begun work on some new recordings for the upcoming full length, tentatively titled Jreambs. We’ve also been writing some brand new tunes, and it’s been a more collaborative effort than previously. More guitar solos and echo-y sounds, less of the same part over and over, and pretty much the same amount of cowbell as before.
(EDIT: This show was canceled) To hear some or all of these new creations, you can come on down to Piano’s on Friday 10 July to see Mother of Three play at around 1030PM. It’s Dima’s birthday that night — shit will be so hot you’ll burn your lips on it. The poster below is only an indication of things to come.

Mother of Three vs. Black Taxi
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009Mother of Three was invited to play with local show-boaters BLACK TAXI for a night of their residency at Piano’s in NYC. Come vote with your dollars and buy a freshly silk-screened and hand-assembled MO3 EP at the show, cuz they’ll be on sale for the first time. These minor artistic masterpieces, each individually numbered, could be yours for US$6. T-Shirts and miscellany will also be available for you super-consumers. Check out the poster for the show, made by Dima.
For full show details, click here.
Also, since we know exactly how many of you listened to the MO3 EP online at BandCamp (here), and we know how many of you actually paid to download it (let’s just say it’s not an insignificant difference), we here at Shoulder Tap Records began to wonder if pulling a Radiohead and allowing folks to pay a single copper penny to download the whole album would change those proportions. We know it’s not as simple as supply and demand in the music marketplace, but you can currently buy it for as little as US$3! If you want it for a penny, leave a comment and let us know (even anonymously).
